Who knew yarn can be hot?

I'm knitting the Nanner socks with Brooks Farms Acero. It is 60% wool, 20% silk, and 20% viscose. It is making my hands sweat to knit with it. Odd, no? Well, here is a pic of the pretty pretty yarn.

Decisions, decisions

I can cast on my next pair of socks at midnight (3.5 hours from now, but I doubt I'll stay up lol). There are 2 sock patterns per month (1 from the book, 1 free). This month, they are:

Free pattern: The nanner socks:

Pattern from the book: The On-Hold Socks (rav link):

I don't know which one I want to do first. I fully intend to do both. I'm also having trouble picking out a yarn. I have a blue one that I can use; but again, I don't know which pattern to do it with.

So, which pattern do you guys think I should do first?

The socks are done!

I am finished! Well, except for the blocking. I have to wait for my sock blockers to come in the mail (I'm hoping they'll be here Monday). This is the first pair of socks from the Ravelry Socks from the Toe-Up knit a long (KAL). The socks are a tad bit looser than what I like, so I am giving them to my best friend. Here are the details:

Needles: Size 3 dpns
Pattern: Wendy's Lacy Rib Socks (rav link) from her Socks from the Toe-Up book
Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Sock, colorway Pool (not happy with the yarn btw)
Toe: Judy's Magic Cast-on, CO 20 sts and did 3 increase rows before increasing as indicated in the pattern.
Heel: Slip-stitch heel
Started: June 4, 2009
Finished: June 27, 2009 (I was distracted by other projects)
Project notes: Pattern very easy to memorize; is very stretchy! Go down a needle size or 2. I made the small size, but they fit my bff's medium sized feet.

Talk about being a follower

I've fallen in love with the Girasole by Jared Flood (his blog is brooklyn knits-link to post). Wendy has done it, and I have several friends planning it or doing it. Most of the projects on ravelry are done either in fingering weight yarn (for a shawl) or in worsted (for a blanket). I want something in-between, so I've thought of finding a nice DK weight yarn to use. If I do use worsted, it will likely be Cascade Eco wool, and if I use fingering, it will probably be Tempted (she's also doing a girasole). I don't like shawls though. However, one of the knitting gurus at the LYS is doing it in fingering weight, and I really liked it. I'd mentally envisioned this blanket as being a future baby blanket, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Lol, I just bought the pattern, so I may be in a bit of trouble if I find the perfect yarn any time soon.

Almost done!

My little elefante is only lacking eyes and a tail. I've been a little lax on posting pics, so I've posted some below.

The feet bore a fun resemblance to cupcakes.

The feet and the body.

Fast forward almost a week...... nearly finished! If I make this again, I will NOT crochet the ears as per the directions. I can surely knit something easier than it was to crochet them.

I kinda sorta sewed the head on crooked, so I'm going to have to sew the eyes in so that the elefante is looking to the side. I'm not sure how I'm going to do that, so I'll probably set her down until SnB on Wednesday.

The elefante has a head

The elefante has a head! My pic is a bit misleading though-its not really attached to the body. I still have to crochet the ears. I tried tonight, but it was so tight that I was damaging my fingers. I'm going to wait until I relax a bit.

Elefante butt

Progress check on the elefante! I have sewn in the ends on the legs (I didn't want to "finalize" sewing on the legs until I got all of them on there and it looked ok) and started the trunk.

lol, my finger hurts again. I really should wear a bandaid on it until it recuperates.

Monday, June 15, 2009

Ouch.

This is somewhat hilarious, but I knit too much last night. I finished the body for the elefante and attached 2 legs. The tip of my index finger on my left hand is beet red and sensitive. I just tried to knit a row on the sock and it hurt too much to do any more. I am officially a weenie.

Pic from WWKIP

Here is the picture from the world wide knit in public day event in Tulsa yesterday. Stacy of Tempted Yarns (website, Etsy store) took the picture. Left to Right: Logan and his socks for his dad (blog), Cody with a skein of Tempted (I want to say the colorway is Sherwood, but don't hold me to that, and Cody is blogless), and me holding the first of my lacy ribs socks.

Knit in Public day

Today was Worldwide Knit in Public day. Several of my SnB friends and I went to Tulsa to the farmer's market to knit there. Then we went on a yarn crawl, hitting 3 stores. I came home with some cute Koigu Painter's Palette Premium Merino (KPPPM), all the same colorway (P713) but 2 different dye lots:

I actually like the more faded one better, but there was only one skein (of course!), so I can't use it for socks. I'm thinking of making these with it (pic from Ravelry):

Cute, huh? I have one really cute pic of my friends and I at the KIP, but I'm waiting for permission to use it from the photo-taker.

Found something bright and shiny to distract me

I've bought the yarn to CO this pretty pretty distraction: Elefante. I've got a cute light pink for the body, a darker pink for the ears, and a chocolate brown for the end of the trunk and feet (its all berroco comfort by the way). Adorable, no? I've been effectively distracted.

Oh, and here's the sock progress after SnB tonight:

One thing I'd like to note. This is Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in Pool. Numerous people have told me that they've never had a problem with this yarn bleeding before, yet it has turned my needles greenish blue and leaves marks on my fingers after I've only knit a few rows. I have messaged Madelinetosh and asked for advice on how to stop this; I'll let you know what she says (you know, in case something like this happens to you).

I'm going to go cast on an elefante.

More sock progress

Since I'm too lazy to drag out my digital camera, you get a iSight pic. I've turned the heel, and now I've just got to decide how long to make the leg portion. It looks like the spiral coloring is going to be gone on the leg. Oh well.

I went to the local yarn store today, just to sit and knit with friends. There was also a learn to knit class going on at the same time. I helped some of the students wind their hanks into cakes (ball of yarn), and helped one girl cast on. It was fun.

Sock progress

I think I'm making decent progress. I'm in love with the spiral striping! I wonder what the variegation is going to do when I get to the heel.

Done!

I've transferred the non-knitting posts to the other blog, so everything should be just about knitting. :)

This makes me incredibly happy!

I'm on the Yarn Harlot's blog post about her Dallas stop. Link. Squeeee!

In other news, I CO a new sock. Its part of the Socks from the Toe-Up KAL on Ravelry. Here is my progress so far:

I think the pooling is interesting. I'll keep going for another few inches to see how it turns out before I decide whether or not I'm going to change yarns.

As always, I'm easily distracted. In keeping with that trend, I'm going to try to learn how to knit continental tonight (I'm a thrower).

I've made a change...

I have changed the purpose of this blog from TTC to knitting. To see my ttc blog, please go here. I'm trying to figure out how to move all of my TTC-related posts over to the new blog so that you don't have to read them if you're here for knitting. Until I figure that out, just gloss over them.

I hope you enjoy the new content of this blog. I'll do my best to AW my knitting habit.

Finished!

I finished the first of the sunrise socks (link is to wendy's downloads page). I learned how important it is to make sure you leave enough tail when you cut that yarn-I had about 8 stitches left to bind off (I used wendy's sewn bind-off) and about an inch of yarn. I ended up tightening up the tail yarn all the way around the sock in order to gain an extra 2 inches of yarn so that I could finish. I am not pleased with the ribbing on the cuff; I might rip it out and redo it. The sock is sized a bit big too-I've recently read on Ravelry that Wendy advises going a size down. I knitted the small, so I guess I should have used size 3 needles instead of the 4s that I got gauge with.

I'm proud of my first toe-up sock, and love the color. That's not going to stop me from giving in to second sock syndrome though. I've signed up for the Socks from the Toe-Up KAL on Ravelry, and it started yesterday. I'm going to use the Madelinetosh Tosh sock below to knit Wendy's Lacy Ribs socks (link goes to the Ravelry page-the pattern is in her new book Socks from the Toe-Up). I'm really tired, so I'll CO tomorrow on my lunch break.

Ooops

So I meant to finish that sock last night, but I stayed up until at least 3am on Friday, Sat., and Sunday nights. Therefore, I was really tired last night and fell asleep at 6:30pm. I woke up again at 1:30am, went back to sleep at 3am, and got up at 8am. Yet I'm still tired. I'll be ready to start the ribbing tonight I hope (assuming I can stay awake).

Stitch n Pitch & Project Update

There's this thing called a stitch n pitch. Local yarn stores reserve blocks of tickets, we buy them, and then everyone knits at a baseball game. We have a minor league team in OKC called the Redhawks, and our SnP was last Saturday. It was a lot of fun, despite DH's sour mood. I had cast on a toe-up sock on Thursday for practice before starting the Socks from the Toe-Up KAL on Ravelry (starts today), but didn't make much progress because of the amount of time I spent driving to see the YH at Dallas.  I finished the toe increases at SWAK on Saturday afternoon, and continued to knit at the game.

Here's what I had about mid-game:

I spent all day Saturday and Sunday knitting, so here's what I had this morning:

Pattern is Wendyknit's Sunrise socks and the yarn is tempted good grrl into the blue.

As for my foot being on the YH's blog, she's doing the post about Plano tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I'll see my tattoo there.

Today was Yarn Harlot Day

Tonight, the wonderful Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, was in Plano, Tx, at Legacy Books.  We left OKC at 4pm, and due to some lovely construction, barely made it there in time. We missed the introduction, unfortunately, but were able to hear the majority of her talk. Knitting is apparently healthy, helps expand your brain, and apparently holds off dementia (and possibly cures psoriasis lol-this could be beneficial to me). Google repetitive something something something (it is freaking 2am, and I've driven 7 hours since 4pm, so I can't quite remember what she called the research term for knitting-I'll fix it if I remember at a more decent hour). Anyway, sorry this picture is so dim, but the other one I took does not show her personality as well as this one does:

Since we were pretty much the last ones there, we had to wait quite a while to get our books signed (there was only 1 girl behind us in line, actually). When I walked up, she called me her "little petal." I was so nervous that Kate had to tell me later that she said it lol. Here I am telling her my name (I totally just typed "telling me her name"):
Of course I wanted to show her my tattooo, so she made me put my foot up on the table so she could take a picture for her blog. I wasn't aware that I am that flexible! Her screen on her camera is broken, so I have no idea if its going to turn out well. She's gotten great at taking wonderful pic anyways, so my fingers are crossed.
She kindly wrote down my name and biomaj for the pic.
Finally, here we are together. She's taller than me, but not by much. We determined that our feet are the same size.

A lovely time was had by all, and I am exhausted. Remember my post from a few weeks back where I worried about coming off as stalkerish? The girl in front of me had me beat. Fo sho. Oh, and thanks to the lovely bookstore employee/volunteer photographer. You did a lovely job.

Belated vacation update

Here's the update I promised you 3 days ago. :)

*Pittsburgh Zoo*
We have very few chipmunks in OK, so when I saw a wild one at the Pittsburgh Zoo, I took his pic.

Mike and me and some fish

Octopus!

Shark.

Most times, you'll see the signs that say "you must be TALLER than this to ride....;" its not often I see one that says shorter than, and the fact that I'm taller than it is a confidence booster (sorry the pic is so big-iPhoto wasn't cooperating, so I had to upload it elsewhere).

 *Elizabethtown*

I'm not sure where this farm was, but it is an example of one of the many beautiful farms in PA, and one of the reasons I want to move back.

My childhood best friend Sarah and I were goofing off for the camera. :)
I lived in the town of Berwick, PA, before we moved to Oklahoma. The whole point of our vacation was to go back to Berwick and reminisce/look around.
This is the house we lived in. The yellow shutters weren't there before; my bedroom was the top window over the front of the house.

This was my grandpa's house. I thought he had built it, but my mom corrected me. Apparently this house was a station on the underground railroad, and my grandpa remodeled it. That fence is new. It has 3 floors, an attic, and a basement. I wanted to look inside, but didn't want to be a creepy random person lol.
Sarah's parents still live in Berwick. This is me, Sarah's mom Debbie, her sister Steph, and brother Scott. The dog Scooter is in the front.
Finally, on the way home we saw a very entertaining truck bumper.

I'll do a separate post for my knitting projects from the trip.

Brief update

We made it home in one piece. Came home to find they had sprayed our apt for bugs on Tuesday but didn't lock the door back (grr). Had a ton of fun, wish it wasn't over, and we are more seriously considering moving to PA in the next few years.

I'll do a longer update tomorrow.

On the road again

We're on the PA turnpike on the way to Elizabethtown, where my friend Sarah lives. I think we'll get there around 10pm. We were seriously freaked out when we had to take a ticket to get onto the turnpike-in OK you pay to get on and off (you get an actual ticket that you have to mail to the turnpike authority if you run the tollbooth). We kept looking for a person to pay lol. We took the ticket, called my mom, and she informed us that you pay to get off. Crisis averted.

We went to the zoo to kill some time today. I have some hilarious pics to share whenever I get the photos uploaded to my computer.

I ate dinner with Bexie in Pittsburgh. She is very nice and we had a lovely time. We are amazed that so many of the houses are on/in the hills here, and that there are so many bridges. DH wasn't 100% thrilled with Pittsburgh, so if we ever decide to move here (and we have discussed it prior to this trip), it likely won't be in a big city.

I need to figure out what to knit on now. I worked on the skirt last nite, but I don't want to keep up with the chart while in the car. ::taps chin:: I'll have to think on this for a while.

We've made it to Pittsburgh

Ok, so here are a few pics in roughly chronological order (I hope). We spent the majority of yesterday and today in the car, I was knitting like a psycho for part of that time, so I didn't get too many pics. I also don't really remember what cities we went through. But here's what I got:

These are Fred's socks. I finished the first one last Tuesday-ish. I STARTED the second one at 8am in the car yesterday, and finished it with a little over an hour to spare before meeting the truly awesome Fred and her DH last night. Please forgive the very bright pic-I had to take it in the car.

This is a pic of a mountain (hill?) in Kentucky. All of a sudden, it went from clear to foggy. I thought it was pretty, so I photographed it (and the power lines apparently).

I want to say this is Cincinnatti, but I honestly don't remember what city it is. Could be Louisville. If you recognize it, throw me a reminder in the comments.
This is in Ohio, but I don't remember the city. I wanna say I saw a stadium with cardinals on it, but I thought the cardinals play in St. Louis, and I know we didn't go to Missouri. I'm a failure at documenting our traveling. But hey, I'm so tired my eyes are barely open right now.

My major accomplishment of the day was the completion of the second mitten. Ta-daa! I'm so glad to be done with them. I really hope my friend Sarah likes them. I'm freaking proud of them.

Made it to Nashville!

We are in Nashville. The drive was uneventful (=good!) and we were able to find the hotel easily. Now we're just waiting to go to the restaurant to meet Fred.

Leaving for vacation in T -5 hours (give or take)

We are leaving for Nashville somewhere between 6 and 6:30am. I'm still getting ready-clothes are packed, but my knitting bag isn't ready. Just printed the directions. Still gotta pack the computer. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I can't remember what. I'm 99% certain I will be blogging, twittering, etc., while on the vacation, so you'll never know I'm gone. :)

Ok, I gotta go wind some yarn.

PS: I got the approval to leave work at 3ish on the 29th. Looks like my chances of meeting the YH are pretty good.

Do you ever wonder?

Yesterday as I was driving the incredibly long 2.5hr drive to my mom's house to drop off the dogs, I passed a hitchhiker. Now, most times, hitchhikers look like scary psychotic serial killers who've missed a few showers. Stereotypes aside I guess, this guy actually looked friendly. I changed lanes to give him some space as I passed, and he waved and smiled. He looked very friendly (and was clean). It made me wonder who he was, where he came from, and why he's hitchhiking. Maybe he's a nice guy, maybe he's the next ted bundy. Who knows? Makes me think of how you really don't know where people come from, regardless of where they are now.

That being said, I didn't slow down.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Only 3 days until vacation!

I can barely wait! We are driving to PA. We'll leave at the buttcrack of dawn on Saturday. I'm eating dinner with Fred and her family in Nashville on Saturday nite, driving to Pittsburgh on Sunday, meeting Bexie on Monday.... I'll post more details later. I am going to have so much knitting time!

::whispers:: there is a hit on my blog from Toronto. That thrills me. Holy crap! ;)

Yarn Harlot, attempt #2

DH ruined my last attempt at this-damn it I was funny last time and I don't know if I can repeat it. I'll try to do it again, verbatim.

The YH will be in Dallas on May 29th at 7:30pm at some bookstore. I may lose my job or go to jail for a massive speeding ticket, but by god I will be there (it's a 3 hr drive). Anyone who has ever read my blog should have realized by now that I am a worrier. I am really good at it. So, I'm going to list my current causes for concern (assuming I remember them-damn it DH!). Several also apply to the fact that I am meeting not 1, but 2 nesties within the next week as well. They are as follows:

1. I'm really nervous about meeting her.
2. I stutter when I'm nervous.
3. When nervous, I tend to say things that only make sense to me or the only 2 people in the world who have been confirmed to speak Laura (DH and bff Liz).
4. I really like the YH, but I do not want to come off as stalkerish. See items #1-3 as to why I think this might happen.
5. From reading her blog archives (I'm up to august 2005 now), it appears that most people bring their knitting to show her (almost always socks). Is it always her pattern? What if I bring one that's not her pattern? Is that insulting? Guess I'll be casting on a sock on vacation.
6. I have had nightmares about not getting there in time. From the fuss on ravelry, there will be many people there.

This is as far as I got when dh called me. After typing it twice, I cant remember my other reasons. I'm sure they'll come to me.

Grrr

I have a blog app on my phone. Just spent 45 minutes typing a very witty post about the yarn harlot's upcoming visit to Dallas. DH is on-call with the ambulance service, called me, and I lost all of it. Just tried to type this out using the computer, and the high winds knocked out my electricity. I'm blogging cursed tonite.

AWing my favorite Etsy store again

Just a reminder: take a look at Fred's Etsy store (link to the upper right). She makes beautiful jewelry, adorable diaper bags, and freaking awesome stitch markers (I have several sets!). She's raising money for her adoption fund. Go check her out!

Introducing George

I've had my cat George since ~Sept. 2007. I had moved into a duplex, and the previous tenants had been feeding a cute half-way grown orange cat. My duplex had a no pet rule, but that didn't stop me from taking him in and keeping him (always paying rent on-time, if not a day early, helped I'm sure). We had him neutered and named him George. Fast foward to my moving to the city. George did not like living in the apt, so I took him to my mom's house where he could go in and out as he pleased. My mom is in the process of moving, and George is now an inside cat (I don't think he realizes there is an outside to go to lol).

George is a very loving, moldable cat. He doesn't care how you hold him, as long as you do. Here he is yesterday, telling me how much he missed me (please forgive the blurry iPhone pic):

Probably done with the dentist for now

My next dentist appt is in the neighborhood of Nov. 5th for a cleaning. She's going to check the tooth that might need the root canal (we'll call that tooth bob) to see if it does need one. I am still having pain in the front teeth and Bob, and she said if it hasn't gone away in 2 weeks I need to stop by and see her. We didn't talk about the wisdom teeth, but they might come out this summer if  I have time.

One of my coworkers had his appointment right after mine (I think he was afraid to go alone lol-we rode together from work to the dentist). The dentist assistant had to clean up my chair because she had another appt after me, so I ended up doing the suction for the coworker while Lida cleaned his teeth. In 5 short weeks I have gone from terrified of Lida to assisting her. I find that really hilarious.

Final tally: 11 fillings, 1 potential future root canal, and a future eviction notice for the wisdom teeth.

The spoils

I went to the DFW Fiber Fest today! Here's what I came home with:

420 yards of Brook Farms Acero (60% Superwash Merino, 20% Silk, 20% Viscose) fingering weight:
Madelinetosh Tosh Sock (superwash merino wool) ~395 yds:
I want to start spinning (will likely start with a drop spindle), so here is ~1.1 oz Jacob roving:

And, finally, here is the progress on my Mermaid Gloves using Tempted Good Grrl Favorite Jeans:
I also came home with a lovely pink t-shirt that says "knitphomaniac." I'm going to wear it to work tomorrow! :)

So excited about tomorrow

I'm going to the vendor show at the DFW Fiberfest in Addison, TX. I have managed to convince my DH to drive (and I'm browbeating him into actually coming inside). One of the girls from the SnB is coming with me, and I'm meeting (drumroll, please) Gnome and her DH! I'm so excited. Hopefully I can leave without maxing out my credit card. We're leaving at 10:30 in the morning, and should arrive somewhere around 2pm or so. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight!

Dentist appt, round 4

I went to the dentist again this morning. She did 4 fillings. The fun part came when my bottom teeth would not go numb. I ended up with a total of 5 shots of lidocaine. She actually made the comment, "but laura, you are not fat. You should not need this much." There you have it folks, I am not fat lol. My husband had a tooth pulled, and he did not need that much (and he weighs twice what I do).

Now to the not-as-great news: there's a good chance I'm going to need a root canal on one of the top back teeth. She put some kind of medicine on it to try to get it to be ok, but she's not confident that it will work. She also put medicine in one of the bottom ones, but she has more faith that the bottom one will be ok with just a filling. I go back next Friday afternoon; not sure if that will be the root canal day or not.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Wha?

I can't for the life of me remember if its Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Gah.

I may kill the skirt (not really)

Turns out the freaking chart is "unclear," according to the local knitting goddess who owns one of my favorite yarn stores. The pink squares that I thought were yarn overs (YOs) are not-they are nothing. They mean nothing; just space holders, according to the goddess. I am still questioning whether there is a YO at the beginning of the row, because it clearly looks like one in the pic. Also, (and this is a gem I discovered after 7 rows of the chart), the increases are not your garden variety M1 type. They are "lifted increases" (apparently popular with the European set), and I was totally doing them incorrectly. Therefore, I undid 3 days' worth of knitting and frogged the damn thing back to the garter stitch rows. My knitting goddess is going to confer with her knitting goddess, and they'll get back with me by the SnB on Wednesday night. I've been looking forward to making progress on the skirt, and now I have to entertain myself with something else. Gah. I have 2 pairs of socks on the needles, 1 in the queue, several sets of baby leggings to make, and no desire to knit anything besides the skirt. Awesome blossom.

Friday, April 17, 2009

This is what happens when I try to be smart

I'm working on the skirt. You do 50 rows of garter stitch, and the next row you increase evenly so that you end up with 252 stitches. The first row of the chart pattern required 33 stitches; 252 does not divide evenly by 33. Sooooooo, I figured out how many stitches I needed to be divisible by 33 and be bigger than 252; 264 it was. So I tinked back enough stitches to fit 14 extras in (knitting in the front and back, in addition to the M1 that was already there). I was so proud of myself for finding an error! I didn't want to knit the chart and find out I was short stitches.

Fast forward to me knitting at the end of the first row of the chart. Turns out I have 14 stitches too many. I suck, and I'm tinking the entire first row (252 stitches mind you) as well as the few stitches of the increase row where I extra increased. Go me. Lesson learned: next time, try the directions before you try to fix it. It might just be right.

Ye olde teethy pegs

In keeping with my I'm-going-to-focus-on-everything-but-TTC plan, let's talk about my teeth again. About every 6 months or so my wisdom teeth act up. They're all below the gums. The gums will get red/inflamed, I'll start running a fever, my face will start to swell a bit, and I'll be living on Tylenol or Advil for the week or so that it lasts. I'm not sure if its ironic or convenient that they are acting up again when I have a dentist appointment on Saturday. Right now, its just the lower right one that hurts. It usually starts gradually-by Thursday all 4 will likely be angry and I'll be a tad bit grumpy.

I'm sure this will lead to another conversation with the dentist about taking them out. If all 4 weren't impacted, I'd have her do it (it did take me 11 yrs to find a dentist I like after all); however, she can only do nitrous, so she's probably going to send me elsewhere. I predict early June.

WTF is up with my IP address?

I have that live traffic feed over there on the right towards the bottom. I have it set to remove my IP address from the list, but I cleared my cookies out on the computer the other night. Anywhoo, it says someone from Catoosa, Oklahoma, was looking at my blog. Turns out that's me, and I don't have any idea where that is! I had to look for it on google maps-Catoosa is near Tulsa. Tulsa is about 2 hours away from me. IP location FAIL lol.

I know you'll laugh at this

but lunch today was the first thing I've eaten in 24 hours. First off, the dentist told me I could eat about an hour after she was finished. However, every freaking tooth in my head hurt, so I didn't want to eat. Today, I wasn't that hungry. Annnnnd (this might be the funny part), my teeth are so nice and clean that I didn't want to mess it up. I ate soup for lunch today.

Its all good

Dentist appointment went really well, despite the fact that I was shaking the entire time. She did a full mouth cleaning (that hurt actually) and 2 fillings. I think I'm going to surprise her when I go again next week by acting very happy to be there lol. I love this dentist! Anyway, I didn't even feel the needle for the lidocaine. Awesome. Only 8 more cavities to go. Next appointment is April 18th.

Update of sorts

I survived my dentist appointment yesterday. Luckily, I only have 1 serious cavity and several small cavities (not bad at all for 11 years between dental visits). The major one will be fixed Wednesday (I'm also getting a cleaning that day too). I go back on the 18th to get the minor ones fixed. Poor DH is going to have to decide if he wants a root canal or just pulling one of his teeth. Its broken off below the gumline. We'll probably do whichever is cheaper. The dentist is very nice and I'm happy we went. I guess I'll see if I still feel that way after Wednesday.
